CellCube and Pangea Energy Have Signed a Letter of Intent

CellCube and Pangea Energy signed a letter of intent to jointly build a 50 MW / 200 MWh energy storage system in Port Augusta, South Australia.  The Pangea Storage Project also includes a 50 MW solar installation. The aim is to provide multiple kinds of grid services to the Australian Electricity Market like baseload power, voltage compensation, reactive power and frequency regulation.

The new energy storage project  relives the Australian grid with the newly offered renewable baseload.  Australian authorities welcome the projectin search of a new basic technology for long-term energy storage.

“The Pangea Storage Project is a wonderful example on how renewable power generation and a safe, reliable and sustainable energy storage technology such as the Vanadium Redox-Flow battery are a perfect symbiosis to provide renewable baseload today”, says Stefan Schauss, CEO of CellCube, “Our new high performing CellCube is three times more efficient than any Power-2-X or Hydrogen technology which will not be available at this scale in the next 3 years. CellCube also offers a lifetime support of 25 years with no degradation or augmentation like needed for lithium. This is real true value for money.”

Pangea Energy will invest approximately $200 million in the project to boost the local economy, create jobs and support Port Augusta's efforts to become a renewable energy center. It is also operated by Pangea Energy. The products and services are supplied by CellCube.
