Amplex-Emirates LLC, a full-service provider in the field of energy storage, has been awarded a pilot project by the Electricity & Water Authority to expand a battery energy storage system at Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The energy storage manufacturer Ingeteam will equip the world's largest solar park of its kind in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a 1.2 MVA high-performance power plant. In addition, Ingeteam will supply the Power Plant Controller (PPC) and a control module with which the entire system can be controlled. NGK Insulators LTD supplied NASbatteries for the pilot project. The installed components ensure precise power generation planning and ensure a stable grid in times of peak loads due to fast frequency control.
Until 2050 Dubai is aiming for a 75% growth in clean energy sources in order to gradually minimize the dependence on fossil fuels and achieve sustainable economic growth.
